Dear Jerry and all:

> Can anyone provide an example of observations which
>estabish a one-to-one correspondence between units of heat and discrete

   Not for me.

>I believe that intrinsic to your second question [Information and
>Thermodynamics] is the issue of the relationship between continuous
>and discrete functions.

In our world, there are those folks who want to get
continuity starting from discontinutity, and those others
sticking to just the opposite. No truce between the two
camps seems in sight yet, though.
