Re: Data and meaning

Dear colleagues,

I am still catching up after a 4 days meeting in Catania on info & energy
transfer in biological systems. There were quite interesting discussions on
the general nature of biological function (participants included Mae Van
Ho, Hameroff, Marino, Lehnov, etc.). At FIS we have to come back to the
theme, as I believe there are serious possibilities of achieving an
original synthesis putting together ideas partially discussed here. If we
cannot have a 'real' conference, I would suggest having an ad hoc session
next year, once we end up the present conference.

There have been quite interesting exchanges in the list during these days
---many thanks to John Holgate for his very stimulating points. Right now
I have a very brief question to Benking, if its possible for him to expand
on what he says about the Rubik cube of the sciences, and also to Terry
--does she know whether masculine parents have such caring and nurturing
'info anxiety' too? Next days I will respond to some other lengthy themes.
