[Fis] Entropy & Information session

Dear FIS colleagues,

Let me recapitulate the information about the coming session:

TITLE: ENTROPY & INFORMATION

DATE: 5 April (with an approximate duration of 3 months)

PARTICIPATION: Michel's introductory text will be the initial guide. It
will be posted next Monday, both as an attached file and as a regular
message. Those parties willing to contribute with their own formal
presentations should send their files to: fisadmin@igw.tuwien.ac.at. There
is no time limit. All the incoming files will be exhibited together in the
fis web site: http://fis.iguw.tuwien.ac.at/resources/papers.html
After the session, a special issue in the Journal Entropy is envisaged.

DISCUSSION: Michel's opening will mark the beginning of the free
discussion. Participants are expected to post a maximum of two regular
messages per week, without attachments (in any case, attachments have to be
sent to the above address). Currently in the FIS list there are exactly
112 'information scientists' from very different disciplines: physics,
computation, biology, neurosciences, social sciences, economics,
philosophy, semiotics, arts... Notwithstanding the need for specialized
terms in these focused discussions, the use of an open, 'interdisciplinary'
language is highly welcome. For those new in the list, a glance on previous
fis sessions is recommended:
