May I please offer an one-sentence definition of information:

Information is the reduction in the expectation space within Receiver on
evaluation of an input.
The terms:
Receiver - ok
input - ok
evaluation - a biochemical-electrical process generating congruences between
different forms of representing the same state of the set
expectation space - the amount of being possibly otherwise
reduction - ok (there is also a negative reduction, that is growth)

Hope this defintion can serve as a common startoff point.
Karl

Dear FISers:
If there was a one sentence definition of information; what would that be?
Would it necessarily include reference to "meaning" ? Could it be applicable
to explaning how a cell generates information?
